About Brandy Nichole Dempsey, NP

Brandy is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and is licensed through the Texas Board of Nursing. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Panhandle Nurse Practitioners Association, International Association of Forensic Nurses and the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault. She received both her Bachelor’s degree and Master’s degree in Nursing from West Texas A&M University and also has a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from Texas A&M University. 

Brandy’s unique prior experience includes post-surgical care and acute care in the emergency room setting. During her time in the ER, she expanded her scope of practice by obtaining her certifications to practice as a sexual assault nurse examiner for adults, adolescents and pediatrics. Through her experience with sexual assault victims, she has developed a love and passion for men’s and women’s health. 

Through her graduate clinical rotations, she gained further experience in primary care, pediatrics, geriatrics, obstetrics and gynecology and integrative medicine. Brandy brings over 2 years experience in nutrition education and counseling along with six years nursing experience to Amaro Integrative Medicine.
 
Practice Philosophy
 
Brandy’s practice philosophy includes treating each patient like they are family. Integrative primary care allows you to connect with patients on a unique level where you can treat the whole person, mind, body and spirit. Her ultimate goal is to help patients become the healthiest version of themselves by encouraging and educating them on positive, impactful, and healthy lifestyle modifications. She wants to empower her patients to take control of their own health and work together through mutual collaboration to reach their healthcare goals. 

In her free time, Brandy enjoys spending time with her Husband and two boys doing anything outdoors including camping, fishing, hunting and listening to live music.
